Workshops
2 Workshops held in Sarzana, Italy and Limassol, Cyprus

Sarzana Italy
23-25 September 2024
Meeting Agenda here

The workshop took place in Sarzana (Italy), bringing together partner organisations and schools in a collaborative and inspiring environment. The event was attended by two schools involved in the activities of the project: one from Limassol, the 18th Primary School of Limassol (Ayios Antonios), and one from Madrid, Public School Miguel Hernández.
During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and share their educational approaches and experiences. The workshop sessions were highly interactive and focused on building a common understanding of the project’s objectives, methodology and expected outcomes.
A key achievement of this first transnational meeting was the establishment of the foundations for the project’s educational guide. Partners worked together to define its structure, key themes and pedagogical approach, ensuring that it will be accessible, inclusive and adaptable across different countries and educational contexts.
Teachers and educators contributed ideas for creative and engaging activities to involve students in the following months, particularly focusing on storytelling, digital tools and intercultural exchange.
The meeting also strengthened cooperation among partners, fostering a strong sense of teamwork and shared responsibility. It was useful to set a clear direction for future activities and laying the groundwork for successful implementation.
Limassol Cyprus
8-11 October 2025
Meeting Agenda here

The workshop unfolded full of creativity. An intense programme was delivered by 5 experts, from MUS-E Cyprus,  FYME from Madrid  and the headtacher of 18th Limassol School,  with the active participation of the schools involved in the Milki-Way activities:  18th Limassol Primary School and Miguel Hernández Public School, San Fernando de Henares, Madrid, Spain.
Sixteen participants were engaged with the workshop activities, although sometime their commitment at work as teachers did not allow them to follow the complete 4-day schedule.
The diversity of music and languages as an irreplaceable treasure for societies and humanity at large, and how bringing this idea as an experience with children into classrooms was discussed, by having Milki-Way as an example that excites children with attractive materials, and at the same time reaches educational goals.
The experiences of the past months using the Milki-Way e-Library, and related activities designed around the stories and the other materials available on the website, were shared and analysed with all participants.
Major focus was on the Teacher Guide, and participants could try some of the activities in sub-groups.
The process was fun and very enriching for all, with meaningful observations and questions.

The Teacher Guide was reviewed in depth to identify areas for optimization or enhancement. For example, teachers asked to reduce the text of the description of the 30 activities.
The participating teachers shared their reciprocal experiences when producing the Audiobooks with the children and it was a rewarding time for all participants. Those new to the Audiobook activity (click here to see) could appreciate the work done and get inspiration.
Feedback from the participants was very positive, with more than 90% satisfaction on the how and where the event was organized, the workshop content, its delivery, timing of the agenda, time allowed to experiential learning, shared materials, facilitators’ expertise in communication and level of engagement.

Some comments:
  • “Education in primary schools needs many boosts like this!”
  • “I will use the activities in classroom when breaks are needed. Sometimes unstructured time is perfect, but sometimes just changing the way of being in the classroom and use music is also perfect.”
  • “I thank all the facilitators! They were amazing and I learnt quite a lot in a short time.”
  • “We have to use music in classroom, I always knew that, but now with the resources you shared it will become easy and super nice!”
  • “Are you going to expand this project? If so, please call me!”
  • “Useful inspiration for some classroom projects I have in mind. Thank you!”
  • “I liked the explanations on multicultural, intercultural and transcultural aspects. Very interesting. Consider that this school is an example on the island for intercultural and welcoming attitude, with Roma children, with Turkish Cypriots here learning Turkish…   Also communicating during some sessions of the workshops several facts and memories of our own childhood was extremely effective in deepening an understanding not only at an intellectual level, but at an emotional and deep-rooted level. I really enjoyed it. Thank you very much, it shows that you put a lot of efforts, expertise and passion in this project.”
